Hello Everyone ....
Just a short note to let you know what a fantastic time we all had on our recent "GoSeeTouring" holiday of the South Island of New Zealand. Twenty one friends joined me to visit New Zealand, the land of the "long white cloud", but I call it the land of wow! cos everyday and everywhere you looked the scenery was just ............."wow look at that".
A highlight was hard to pick as we did so many different things and went to so many wonderful places , but if I had to pick one it would have to be the helicopter ride to the top of the fox glacier. That morning there was not a cloud in the sky, the view, landscape, and mountains was yes, you guessed it "wow look at that". My thoughts are with the people of Greymouth at this present time with the news of the coal mine explosion, let us hope and pray the miners do get out safely .
As host of the tour it was my job to entertain the people but I think we all had a go at as there were several characters in the troup . Joe (who had some hearing problems , only hears what he wants to hear according to his wife Joan ) from Echuca always had a joke up his sleeve, Monica, our 85 year old " recycled teenager" went on every ride, even the jet boat (which was sensational) , she had us in fits of laughter all the way . It didn't matter what we did Monica was always in the thick of things , thanks Mon your quite a gal . We also had a talent night before we came home and nearly everyone got up and did something , Wendy had us on the floor with laughter with her zany routine , I still can't work it out ! . Tony from Melbourne brought his sister Gracie out from Malta and she really enjoyed herself , even got up annd sang "Que Sera Sera" , and lets not forget the bootscooters ( yeh ...once again Monica was in amongst them all ) whom I caught practicing their routine in the hallway of the hotel , talk about laugh ! even my partner Jenny got up and had a bootscoot , but please don't tell the neighbours .
Our Coach Captain Andrew was so great , very informative and joined in , took us around the block a few times , ( whenever he wasn't sure , yes it was around the block ) he even sang a couple of songs and gave us a morning prayer before we started each day ? ( His driving wasn't that bad ) We had singalongs on the bus , story telling and a couple of show nights plus we all made a lot of new friends and now there is plenty of photo's circulating in exchange through the internet .
If you want to come along with us next time , get in touch with Goseetouring 1300 551 997 or their website www.goseetouring.com or contact me on my email . At this stage we are talking about a trip to Vietnam and some other countries in November 2011, sounds exciting , so i will keep you informed .
PS Don't know how many times I sang "Pokarekare Ane"
